And we just keep growing!

Missed the Boat is shaking things up again! This past year allowed us to continue to refine and develop our organizational structure, and we're making some exciting changes as we head into the fall season. Mary Shaffer will be pulling up into greater ownership of her role as Artistic Director, and pulling Sam Vargo up along with her as Executive Director! The new powerhouse in the office is Christina Malloy, coming on as Programming Coordinator. Christina will do most of the planning and executing of our programming for each theatre season. We are also expanding our marketing team, welcoming Caroline Redelmeier as Marketing Director and Emma Knapik as Social Media Coordinator.

A huge thank you and very warm welcome to Christina, Caroline, and Emma! Read more about them below.

Christina Malloy, Programming Coordinator

Originally from California, Christina specializes in movement in devised theatre and other acting techniques. She has created three shows using these techniques, receiving several awards through the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and Mexico City. Christina moved to Minnesota to serve with NET Ministries for 3 years and is currently a youth minister at St. Jude of the Lake in Mahtomedi. Creating devised stylized movement pieces and playing on the playground of the stage is her specialty because she is a firm believer in the healing power of play. Her dream is to create a theatre company that centers on Catholic theology, encourages freedom through creativity, and healing through different methods of acting.

Caroline Redelmeier, Marketing Director

Ever since she was a child, Caroline has had a passion for the arts, whether that be through painting and drawing or the more performative arts (singing and dance). Over the years this has come out in many ways, first through her academic studies in Architecture when she earned her Bachelor’s from Texas Tech University and Masters’ from the University of Miami, and then in her professional career when she served as the Marketing Specialist for Our Lady of Grace Edina, MN from 2016-2021. Since encountering Missed the Boat Theatre Caroline has found tremendous joy in the artistry and faith that this community brings and so when asked to join as the Marketing Director was thrilled to put her gifts to use in helping to expand this ministry.

Emma Knapik, Social Media Coordinator

By day Emma is an admin professional in downtown Minneapolis, and outside of working hours she is an actor/singer that can be found performing with various Twin Cities community theaters including Ashland Productions, Off Broadway Musical Theater, Cross Community Players, and many others. She joined the Missed The Boat community in 2022 as a hair and makeup designer for their production of Sense & Sensibility, and later assisted in planning the 2023 benefits Cabaret. She is so thrilled to be lending her social media skills to this amazing theater and can't wait to help build and grow this community!
