Have you ever heard someone talk about their prayer and said to yourself, “God just doesn’t speak to me like that”? The truth is, God is speaking to each of us at every moment using every possible means available to him: the things and people we encounter, our memories both beautiful and painful, our desires and fears, not to mention the words of Scripture. This retreat focuses on allowing God to use our imaginations to speak the eternal truth of his love in a completely personal way. When the imagination is infused with and elevated by grace, God can craft the raw material of our sense perceptions, memories, and emotions into an interior masterpiece. The retreat draws on the teachings of St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Bonaventure, Jacques Maritain, and of course our beloved patron, St. John Paul II.

The retreat includes a morning Mass, talks by MTBT’s Artistic Director Mary Shaffer, spiritual exercises led by Leadership Team Member Christina Malloy, and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Lunch is provided.
